XFINITY TV Go App Review

Hey ya’ll, GOODe Ole Boy here!

Our GOODe friend Michelle over at Comcast has asked little ol’ me to do a free trial period to review their XFINITY TV Go app.  As soon as I got the login setup complete I jumped right in to check out what all I had access to.  Since I was given a trial access I was opened to the complete Comcast lineup of television shows, documentaries and my personal favorite, MOVIES!!!  We have HBO at our house and that”s about all we subscribe to with our current provider.  Michelle let me test drive the Cadillac app!  I instantly had access to HBO, Stars, Cinemax, Showtime plus ALL of the networks covered under Comcast.  I was in binge watch heaven!  I am a huge superhero movie fan and I was not disappointed by my choices of movies in that genre. (I will not divulge just how many times I watched Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World, but let’s just say you don’t have enough fingers to count.)  But still I wondered how I could benefit from the app…

XFINITY™ TV Go app

Soon after being contacted by Michelle, Cris and I went out to lunch.  A couple tables over there was a couple with their young child seated and attempting to eat while also attempting to keep their youngling occupied.  It proved quite difficult as the child was quite the boisterous one and wouldn’t let mom and dad get a word in to each other.  That’s when I saw the daddy whip out a tablet and put on their child’s favorite children’s show.  Instantly the kid was content and mommy and daddy were able to have a pleasant conversation over their lunch.  As for the tablet… well, let’s just say I hope spaghetti cleans off easier than it looks.  But that got me to thinkin’ as I sometimes do.  Ya see, we are not currently subscribers to Comcast.  We switched from our old satellite provider just over a year ago to our local phone company’s television service.  We did it to save some money and in doing so, we ended up sacrificing one of Miss Add’s favorite networks, Sprout.  We didn’t think it was that big of a deal, but Miss Add thought otherwise.  She even shed a tear when she found out that she wouldn’t be seeing her beloved Chica, Nina and Star.

I got home that evening and flipped through XFINITY’s programs just to see if they carried Sprout and low and behold, THEY DID!!!  I called Miss Add in the room and told her about the app.  I then turned on The Chica Show.  I was met by tears and a hug.  I had just reunited her with one of her very first best friends.  Miss Add then took over my phone to catch up on all things Chica.  Fortunately I was able to log into the same app on my laptop where I was able to watch another superhero movie for the umpteenth time 🙂

Speaking of our current provider…

Our service went haywire one night a couple weeks ago.  It just happened to be the same night that Last Comic Standing was on.  I was not a happy camper.  Later that night I was lying in bed, pouting about not seeing my show.  Then I remembered the TV Go app.  I grabbed my phone and a pair of headphones and went on the hunt for the show and BOOM it was there.  I spent the next hour or so trying not to wake my wife while giggling like a little kid.  That Rod Man knows how to make daddy laugh!  Our friend Michelle and XFINITY saved the day!

If you are a subscriber to XFINITY and you want to take advantage of this awesome app all you need is an Android smartphone or Iphone, Ipad Ipod touch or a computer.  There is no additional fee for the app.  It simply takes your current subscription and allows you to take advantage of it on the go. Hmmm TV Go…Now I get it!  Many thanks to Michelle Gilbert and Comcast for letting me test drive the XFINITY TV Go app!!
