How to Peel a Peach

In preparation for my upcoming PEACH-O-RAMA where I not only tackle two pecks of peaches, but make all kinds of yumminess for today and tomorrow (PEACH-O-RAMA meets FREEZE-O-RAMA), I thought we ought to discuss just how you peel a peach…

Or more like how you peel two pecks of peaches without throwing half of those juicy little babies away with their skins…

Thankfully my peach source (Aunt Mary) had a Super Mommy Secret in her back pocket to help me begin to process this yummy bounty!

Blanch those little boogers and peel, peel away…

So I summoned my inner Golden Girl and boiled up a pot of water, stuck my peaches in the boiling water for one minute– turning as needed to make sure the entire peach heats up.

Then I immediately cooled ‘er down in a bowl of ice water.

Once they are cooled off, grab a knife and the skin just peels right off.

Now you have the perfect peachy ingredient all ready and waiting for PEACH-O-RAMA!
