What’s for dinner, mom? Is this a question that plagues your house like it does mine? Seems like it happens everyday these days…

That is why I just love it when my friends over at Gooseberry Patch cook up another great cookbook and send it my way. Long time readers will know I have mad love for GP. And, so it comes as no surprise that their latest book, Good for You Everyday Meals has me cooking up a storm these days.

New Gooseberry Patch Cookbook

Now, let me be clear, this is not a diet book. And, thank heavens for that!

No, in my opinion Good for You Everyday Meals is a great book for real people who just want to eat good food and feel good about it. I just love that this book is filled with ideas that I can tailor to my family’s tastes and needs.

Truth be told I was surprised at the number of great recipes that would fit into our normal meal rotation without the family really noticing that I am…

Chicken Pesto tortellini

Adding veggies into a delicious chicken dish like we did with this Chicken Pesto Tortellini.

Balsamic Salad Dressing

Adding a side salad with an ah-mazing homemade dressing like we did with this Homemade Balsamic Vinaigrette Salad Dressing.

Banana Muffins flax seed

Or sneaking in some whole grains into the most requested muffins I have ever made! These Banana Nut Muffins are definitely a family favorite.

Baked Fried Chicken

My “Fried” Baked Chicken is even in there too!

This is one of my favorite recipes that Mom taught me when I was a young cook. Mom really got that getting the family to eat well was all about finding ways to make good food taste good too.

Psst…

Want even more of a taste of Good for You Everyday Meals, check out Gooseberry Patch’s recipe box where they are sharing 18 recipes from this book completely free- see I told ya they were GOODe friends ;).

Enter to Win

Now for the part you are waiting for 😉 How about a giveaway of this great book? GP sent me a copy for one of you too! To enter, just leave a comment below about which one of the recipes above or over at GP’s recipe box you’d like to try.

Contest runs until midnight on  3/15/14 and winner will be notified via email and have 48 hrs to respond before new winner will be chosen. Winning book will only be shipped within the continental U.S.

GOODe Luck!

The Fried Baked Chicken looks good. I don’t like frying food anyway, too messy.

I’m thinking those banana nut muffins and vinegar are on my list of wanting to make! They look like something we have to buy and would rather make! Thanks

I really want to try the homemade Balsamic Vinegrette. I’d rather make it than buy it.

I am trying to make more salads with a little variety and the Corn, Tomato & Black Bean Salad looked good. I so love their cookbooks – they are a treasure to read and look through. ~Kathey

I am interested in making the balsamic dressing for salad. It looks very similar to a dressing that was served at a funeral luncheon I attended.
