Do you love fajitas? Why not make your own! This simple and delicious Zesty Steak Fajitas recipe will have your family coming back for more!

Zesty Steak Fajitas

Aunt Lou here.

You know how much my Michael loves a good deal on meat. So when he saw one pound packages of thinly sliced steak for $1.69, he was so excited it was literally all he could talk about for days! And he knew exactly what he wanted to make.

I had never even thought of making our own fajitas, but Michael insisted that was just exactly what we needed to do.

So, I have to credit this yummy recipe to my dear husband and his love for food.

Start by cutting your steak into thin slices.

Then you will slice your green, red and yellow pepper halves into thin slices. (Michael is much better with a knife than I am. So I was really excited when I whipped up on him as we were slicing up these peppers! It really is the little things.)

Now you need to slice your onion half into thin slices. After my victory dance regarding the peppers, Michael left me to slice the onion myself. Victory over. I can’t stand slicing onions. I can run cool water over the onion while I slice it and my eyes still burn like mad. Lesson learned…have the hubs slice the onion BEFORE I gloat over slicing peppers better than him.

Back to the recipe…combine all of your spices…cummin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, crushed red pepper and black pepper…really well.

Next put your steak slices, peppers and onions in a bowl and toss with spice mixture.

Then put your olive oil in large, deep skillet and cook steak, peppers and onion over medium-high heat until the steak is brown and onion is tender.

Serve ’em up on warm tortillas!

The smell of these were amazing and the taste was just as mouth watering! Kudos to Michael!
