Repurposing Old Benches into Planters

Our porch furniture has seen better days.

We got these benches on clearance YEARS ago and have loved them ever since.

We have used them for special occasions, many a family dinner and all summer long every season… but this season they were beginning to show their age.

And well… they were getting a bit POKEY.

I bought a kit to try to repair them, but as it turns out, I am not a furniture weaver…

We currently have a family contest going on how to repair the others with materials of our choice (update on that at a later date).

But for this one, it was wearing right in the middle and it gave me an idea.

I went ahead and cut it all the way through and put a couple pots in!

Instant planter!

And I just love it.

I am so glad this little idea has given these benches another season…

At least until we come up with our repair ideas.
