Looking for new games for Family Game Night? Here are Five Dice Games We Love (and One We Don't! via @crisgoode

My family LOVES dice games.

And I LOVE when my family plays games.

So we play A LOT of dice games.

I thought I’d share Five Dices Games We Love (and One We Don’t).

Looking for new games for Family Game Night? Here are Five Dice Games We Love (and One We Don't!

Five Dice Games We Love

When thinking through what games to include in this list, I tried to include everything from super easy games that take seconds to learn to some more difficult but very rewarding games to play.

Easy Dice Games to Learn

Sometimes you need a super quick game that just gets the game night going, These three are super easy dice games to learn. You can learn both in under a minute.

Pass the Panda: First up, is a game we have mentioned here before. This game is easy to learn in under a minute. The goal is to get rid of all your dice. When you roll the dice you can either get rid of dice, keep them, pass them or make the other player have to roll a certain number. First player that gets rid of all their dice wins!

Tenzi: A friend first introduced me to Tenzi at a bookstore. It is also super quick to learn AND you can play it a hundred different ways (or 77 to be exact). The main way is to play is to race to get all the same number on your dice before anyone else.

We like to play the ZEROZI version: Where you race to get 5 dice the same and pass to Left/Right based on if the number is Even/Odd. First person to get rid of ALL the dice in front of them wins!

Roll for It!: This game is so simple but so addictive. You roll your dice to win cards. You can place your dice and leave them for your next turn, so there is strategy involved as well. Everyone LOVES this one!

Dice Games with Fun Themes

The next two games take a few minutes to learn, but it is time well spent. These themes are really fun, especially for kids.

Mountain Goats: This game packs a lot of fun in a tiny box! In Mountain Goats you are trying to get to the top of each “mountain” by rolling your dice and strategically placing them to move your goats. But watch out, another goat will knock you off the top.

Spots: This adorable game has you rolling dice to put the spots on your sweet little pups. Complete six pups and you win! But too many unused dice and you’ll end up in the dog house.

Advanced Dice Game

If you are looking for a bit of a heavier game, but still accessible we have THE game for you.

Three Sisters: This game is a little harder to learn but a delight to play. You use dice to farm your little plot of land and grow your crops to take them to the farmers market to sell. We absolutely love exploring all the little ways to grow your little homestead in this game.

And the One Dice Game We Don’t Love

The dice game we just don’t love is Doozy Dice.

It has a really cute theme of silly faces with fun patterns to make that kids might enjoy, but it ended up falling flat for us.

I think the main issue is it similar to one of our all time favorites (Roll for It!) except it was a bit more complicated in flow and the theme just didn’t overcome the clunkiness for us.

Doozy Dice just wasn’t a doozy for us.
