Dear Reader-
Count me this as one of the things I. Did. Not. Know…
Shortbread cookies are among the easiest to make.
I have always loved a good shortbread cookie, but for some reason (beyond me) I have always thought they were complicated and delicate.
Pshaw…
This will forever be our cut-out cookie from now on.
It. Is. Perfect.
This recipe comes from Gooseberry Patch’s Christmas Cookie Jar Cookbook.
I started out with 4 sticks of softened butter
Add 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar- packed
And 2 1/4 Cups Flour
That is it.
Simple.
Mix it up and turn out on a floured surface.
No refrigeration necessary.
Roll out and cut out.
Easy Peasy.
Use this dough with some high quality cookie cutters and you will get success every time. Bake at 300 degrees for 25 minutes.
Miss Add even sculpted a few for Elf-vis.
Elf-vis was a fan.
A big fan.
