BBQ Chicken LegsDear Reader-

Slowcooker bbq chicken legs recipe

All while celebrating my favorite crockpot cookbook-  Slow Cooking All Year ‘Round!

Gooseberry Patch slow cooking recipeHave you entered to win it yet?

First up is a killer recipe that is sooo simple and sooo delicious- BBQ Chicken Legs!

Gooseberry Patch chicken leg recipe

Now I lightened this recipe up by removing the skin from my chicken legs and skipping the boiling portion of the recipe for my On the Lighter Side Series with Gooseberry Patch.

Chicken LegsI then seasoned them with Garlic Powder, Onion Powder and Pepper to taste.

Garlic PowderThe original recipe calls for 1/4 cup of Hot Sauce and 3/4 Cup BBQ Sauce… we are light weights, so I just gave it a splash of  Hot Sauce…

Hot SauceAnd 1 Cup of BBQ Sauce

BBQ SauceI also reduced the butter to 4 T and used light butter.

Add ButterAnd cook on low for 6-8 hours.

drumsticks barbecued crock pot recipeThen I removed them from crockpot and placed them on a cookie sheet, basted with more BBQ sauce and broiled for 5 minutes to take the wow factor up a notch.
