Saying What Needs to Be Said

I still remember a note I received back in 2009 from someone who saw something in me I never saw in myself.

I stepped a little lighter that day and held my head a little higher.

I had always been a card giver, but that day I learned a bit more about what a card can do for someone.

Cards

Some may remember that a while back I paid a special tribute to a dear friend I would exchange cards with regularly by sending cards out to 34 of my friends, one for each year of her precious life that was cut too short.

I hold dear the responses I received from those cards… each with its own story and each somehow sweetening my memory of my friend as our tradition unfolded in mailboxes across this country that she loved.

And again, I was reminded the power of a card.

To let someone know that you feel they are special.

GetCardedBadgeThat is why I am taking Hallmark’s Get Carded Challenge this year.

The challenge?

Send 7 cards in 7 days to 7 special people in your life. Tell them how much they mean, how much you miss them, how you’ll never forget that time…

How about you? Do you know someone’s mailbox that could use a little TLC?

You just may find that something you have to say might just find its way to just the right someone on  just the right day.

If card giving is something you enjoy, or if you are ready to take the Get Carded Challenge yourself, you can receive 30% off Cards at Hallmark.com using the code: BLOG30

Disclaimer: Hallmark did not compensate me for this post, my love of card giving is all my own. Hallmark did send me a package of cards to participate in the challenge.

What a great idea! Nothing compare to the written word and the idea that someone took a moment to share what they are feeling, especially
In our media, instant access world. I love reading cards I have received!

I completely agree. It is so easy to send emails/Facebook and Twitter but a card in the mail is so special!
