This Honey Barbecued Pork 4 ingredient slow cooker recipe is sure to have you coming back for more.

Crockpot Pork Recipe

Dear Reader,

We have stumbled upon a new winner for the crockpot…

Honey Barbecued Pork…

Healthy Protein

Perfect way to enjoy the flavor of “pulled pork” in a heart healthy way because it uses pork tenderloin in lieu of some of the fattier cuts.

We heart pork tenderloin… you know this we cook with it… All. The. Time.

I use it to make Crockpot Mushroom Sherry Pork, Zippy Shredded Pork, Puddie’s Pork Fried Rice and even Pork Chop Sandwiches.

So, I was thrilled to add this slow cooker recipe to the mix.

Leftover Winner

Puddie LOVES it…

He hates leftovers, yet I find him sneaking this out of the fridge days after the original meal.

And, for all you make-ahead meal fans, it will freeze up just find for a quick lunch later in the month.

YUM!

Recipe for Pork Barbecue

This recipe is from Gooseberry Patch’s brand new 101 Soups, Salads & Sandwiches (to be released on Jan 6 – or you can get the Kindle Version today!).

Psst… did you see that I am giving a copy away?

No?

Well then go check it out 😉

Quick and Easy Steps

3 lb Tenderloin

Now, back to our crockpots folks… focus now… this is so uber complicated 😉 (I kid)

You take a 2-3 lb pork tenderloin and season it with salt and pepper after placing it into your slow cooker.

Chopped Onions

Add 2 Onions Chopped

BBQ Sauce

Then add 12 oz of your favorite barbecue sauce…

We are Sweet Baby Ray’s fans… and not just because it is super fun to say Sweet Baby Ray’s…

This stuff is as good as the stuff you find in a great BBQ joint…

1/4 Cup Honey

Add 1/4 Cup of Honey

And then just put a lid on it for 6 to 8 hours on Low…

Slow Cooker barbeque pork recipe

When it is done and the meat easy pulls away with a fork, take two forks and shred the meat, mixing well with the sauce and onions.

I love pulled pork; however, it makes no difference what I do, I can never “take two forks and shred the meat”. What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like your meat isn’t tender enough… When it is tender, you should be able to hold the meat with a fork and pull the meat away with the other fork until it shreds. For this recipe, if it doesn’t shred after 6 hours, close the crockpot and check it again a 7 hours… if it is still not tender, cook it for the full 8 hrs. Hope that helps…

Could it be the size of my pork tenderloin? I get mine at Aldi; 5-6 pounds for about $13.00.

Yes. A loin that large would likely take much longer to cook. I would cut it in half and save the rest to cook up some other yummy dishes. Or, just do another batch in another crockpot at the same time.

That’s what I thought so I purchased two smaller tenderloins (between 2-3 pounds each) earlier today. I can’t wait to try your recipe. It will have to wait, though; I promised the hubby I would make a crock-pot roast tomorrow. Btw, many thanks for all of your help… love your blog and recipes!

Just found this great recipe. Can I cook on High for a shorter period of time? I’d like to make it for a work potluck and am afraid it won’t be ready in time. Wondering if you have tried it with the High setting vs. Low.

      Thank you in advance!

Would this work minus the honey?
