Puppy Progress

There are few things that wet puppy dog noses can’t fix…

Wet puppy accident spots would come close… (just sayin’)

But then he pulls out all the stops– wet puppy dog kisses– and all is forgiven…

My little puppy class graduate is getting better at the house training though…

We have been two whole days without an accident (with two exceptions… that have me scratching my head).

We now kennel him (per the trainer) and have reduced the kennel size (per the trainer) and he has stopped peeing in the kennel BUT he has pooped twice in the kennel after being in it for only an hour… after multiple walks… spaced out meals… yadda, yadda, yadda…

I am guessing it is his feeding schedule… which I will be monitoring more closely this week to see if there is indeed a science to this…

Note: I totally get that there is supposed to be a science to it… BUT puppy class taught me that yorkies –and specifically my yorkie– kind of goes to the beat of his own drum… seriously.

His own frustratingly slow drum…

No… Seriously.

Repeat after me: Puppy dog noses, puppy dog kisses, puppy dog tails…

The GOODe news is that he has caught on to asking to go outside… He will come up and whine a little until I take him out.

This is HUGE…

I never knew I would be more excited about a puppy pottying than I did when Miss Add went diaper free…

But here is the thing… I always knew in the back of my head that she would not be going to Kindergarten in diapers and well… truth be told, this housebreaking thing is a little less certain… just sayin’

We are getting there though…

And until we get there, don’t mind me as I repeat: Puppy dog noses, puppy dog kisses, puppy dog tails…

I hear ya.  The cat is not always accurate with her litter box.  Sometimes it’s just a matter of she was in the box but misjudged where her poop would hit, and sometimes Tall Guy thinks she has a personal vendetta against him and his chair.  OYE!

Yeah, well, when you’re that cute…
Does your Yorkie have access to food at all times, or fed twice a day? If I take my dogs out within 15 minutes after their two meal times, I find it works pretty well, giving them a chance to ‘do their business.’ But then, I’ve never had a Yorkie. LOVE that face!!!♥
