Manwich Girls

Dear Reader-

When dinner time would roll around when I was a kid– right about at 4 PM each night– I would anxiously await for Dad to get home so we could dig in to whatever Mom had made that night.

It is important to note, my home was a strictly “meat & potatoes” type household and even Puddie shakes his head when I explain that baked French fries are a perfectly acceptable side to beef burritos per my childhood 😉

There wasn’t too much that Mom made that I didn’t love… except this ground beef dish with biscuits on top that my sister loved but I sooo didn’t, but that is another post filled with thoughts (read: accusations) of how Aunt Lou was out to get me as a child… I tease 😉

Even today Aunt Lou and I tease each other over the dinner table. She is allergic to most vegetables (read: picky) and I make sure to cram them into casseroles and force feed them to her (read: ornery).

But Aunt Lou and I sure agreed on one family meal (and still do)… Manwich Night.

Now, you might call it Sloppy Joe night, but in this particular case… we Benefiel girls are quite brand loyal… it has to be Manwich.

Truth be told, I was just a tad bit excited (and filled with nostalgia) when ConAgra sent me the list of brands participating in the Child Hunger Ends Here campaign and I saw our beloved Manwich on the list.

So it seems only fitting that on my last post as an Ambassador for the program, that I share with you that I totally heart Manwich.

I have tried many a times to make a substitute of the homemade variety, but it just isn’t the same folks.

And their participation in this program that helps you and me provide meals for our hungry neighbors only makes me heart the brand more 😉

Now if Manwich isn’t your thing… ahem Puddie… you should immediately go to the doctor and see about a taste bud replacement because something’s off dude…

Or, perhaps a less dramatic approach would be to check and see if one of the other participating brands make your list of childhood memories — all while helping a hungry child receive the nourishment they need.

Check out this list of participating brands and then enter the codes on your favorites to help feed your neighbors. It really is that easy.

Banquet
Chef Boyardee
Healthy Choice
Hunt’s
Marie Callender’s
Manwich
Orville Redenbacher’s
Peter Pan
Snack Pack

Note: As a Blog Ambassador for this program, I have been compensated for this post, however my adoration for Manwich is totally my own… well and Aunt Lou’s.
