Do you like to bake for others? Do you take a sick friend soup? Do you feel that from-scratch gifts are from the heart? If so, Gooseberry Patch’s Gifts from the Kitchen might just be the cookbook for you!

Gifts From the Kitchen

My good friends at Gooseberry Patch sent me a copy and one to giveaway (bottom of this post) to one of you as a part of our 21 Days of Christmas Recipes celebration that we are in the middle of with our sister site RecipesThatCrock.com.

Christmas Recipes Gooseberry Patch

Make sure to stay in touch with both of our sites on facebook (GOODEness Gracious Facebook Community and Recipes That Crock Facebook Community) for all the festive fun and check here for our current holiday giveaways.

Now, back to this giveaway and this book…

Gifts From the Kitchen

You will find a lot of great recipes that you would expect to find in a cookbook entitled Gifts from the Kitchen, a whole chapter dedicated to Christmas Cookie Swaps that feature classics like Snowball Sandies (recipe coming soon)…

Pecan Butterballs

And another dedicated to decadent bars and brownies like…

Red Velvet Brownie

Red Velvet Brownies… oh yes they are!

Oatmeal Cranberry Bars

And yummy unique treats like these Oatmeal Cranberry Chewy Bars (recipe coming soon).

Peanut Butter Candy

There is a whole chapter on those yummy old fashioned homemade candies like these Pecan Peanut Butter Candies (recipe coming soon).

You will also find a chapter on feels-like-home Blue Ribbon Cakes and Pies and another on Treats in a Twinkle.

But what you might not expect are the chapters on Muffins and Breads and Soups. From yummy dishes that you whip up right away to share, to those you package in beautiful layered jars and gift for later, these chapters are filled with great finds like…

Homemade Tomato Soup

This ah-mazingly flavorful Pesto Tomato Soup (recipe coming soon).

Last but not least, you will find a whole chapter on creative ways to package up your goodies to gift and share!

Miss Add and I loved flipping through all the pages and whipping up all kinds of treats for Daddy’s work friends this holiday season.

Our favorite so far?

Candy Cane Kisses Cookies

The Candy Cane Kisses Cookies that we were inspired to make by the White Chocolate Chip recipe we found in the pages of the Cookie Swap chapter!

All in all, Gifts from the Kitchen is a great addition to my holiday recipe collections and is a must have for any uber-Gooseberry Patch fan like myself.

Potato candy because my grandmother made it every year for Christmas for all the grandchildren along with many other special treats. Now when I make it and share with others, I remember the love my grandmother shared with everyone.

My whole family loves Peanut Butter Bullseyes. But my favorite is a cookie made by pouring a mixture of melted butter, sugar, vanilla and pecans over graham crackers. My mom made them for years.
