10 Memories (and a few I’d like to forget)

Dear Reader-

I have shared some photos from our recent trip to Disney and some tips for other mamas out there, but on my last post about the matter, I want to share the things I want to share 10 things I really want to remember(and a few I’d rather forget…).

I really want to remember Miss Add enjoying her Mickey Waffle on our first morning.

I was still figuring out our free dining and accidentally missed the kids waffles, and resorted to ordering her bacon and eggs.

When I discovered my mistake–that they did INDEED have Mickey Waffles, I ordered an adult Mickey Waffle and switched our breakfasts so she could still have her breakfast treat that I had heard about for weeks!

And, boy was it worth it! She enjoyed that waffle to it’s fullest!

I really want to remember Miss Add’s face when we came back from a long day at one of the parks only to discover that Gilbert and Batty had been having fun in the hotel room too (thanks to the hotel maid).

Miss Add spent hours wondering why her stuffed animals only chose to come to life when she was gone… guess we need to brush up on our Toy Story…

I would really rather forget that while we were waiting to see Pluto, a lady on a run-a-way scooter crushed my foot under her wheel as she rammed into me and the fence I was standing in front of… never quite stopping until a cast member came to my rescue.

And, truth be told, I intend on forgetting it as soon as my foot stops hurting ;).

She was –as you might imagine– mortified, clearly a beginner in the scooter department and I totally felt for her, but I have to admit, I steered clear of her and her buckin’ bronco for the rest of the day.

I really want to remember Trick or Treating at the Magic Kingdom. It was so much fun to watch Miss Add charm those Cast Members and not to mention get all that awesome candy that we learned Goofy makes!

I really want to remember Miss Add’s reaction to finally getting to ride Dumbo.

Last time we were at the Magic Kingdom, we waited in line only to have it be shut down because it started raining.

But this time, we waited 15 minutes and walked right on.

She LOVED it!

I would really rather forget that on the night we promised Miss Add some major pool time, it was closed…

Let’s just say we had expected a little Pooh on our vacation, but got something entirely different.

Ya see the main pool was closed due to the fact that some kid pooed in the pool.

Ewww… Blech.

For the rest of the time there we chose to swim in the other pool, however, I kept trying  not to think about the fact that the same thing probably happened in the pool we were using the week before… Blech.

I really want to remember how Daddy took Miss Add by the hand and gave her a bag in the candy store and told her to fill it with her favorite candies. I am not sure who enjoyed it more– Daddy or Addie. I want to remember it mainly because of the sweet memory and secondly because at those prices we will never do that again!

I really want to remember the Fantasmic Show at Hollywood Studios and mainly Puddie’s reaction to it.

It was jaw dropping and breath-taking.

Before going in, we waited in a shoulder to shoulder line and at one point Puddie says to me, “This better be worth it” and by the end of the show he was saying it was one of his favorite memories of the entire trip!

Miss Add talked about it for days! Definitely more than a fireworks show!

I really want to remember how Puddie charmed the ladies at Walt Disney World.

You could tell his craziness was something they didn’t see everyday…

Truth be told, I think the photographers were caught off guard too. He got all kinds of reactions from “This is the best shot I took all day!” to “Are you watching what he is doing?”

I would really rather forget when I lost one of our fast pass tickets for the one and only thing we had our heart set on at Epcot– Soarin’. We were wet, tired and a little cranky and then I lost one of our fast pass tickets… and wouldn’t you know it, while everything else had no waiting, Soarin’ had a 90 minute wait!

For hours I stewed and stayed mad at myself for being so careless… now mind you, I had lost a lens cap to my camera at the same time, but didn’t care one bit about that!

Ha!

I stewed so much that I turned to my trusty pal Google and found out on my phone that the cast members would likely give me another pass if I showed them the two I hadn’t lost… and sure enough, THEY DID!

If only they could have given my grumpy afternoon back to me to do over 😉

I really want to remember Miss Add’s enchantment over the Disney Junior Show at Hollywood Studios.

She LOVES Disney Junior and all the cartoons that the show featured… completely captivating.

I really want to remember MY amazement at the Happy HalloWishes Fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom.

We had seen Wishes before, but this show was A-MAZING.

I have never experienced fireworks like that before. We were in Fantasyland and there were fireworks going off all around us.

It was so beautiful and perfectly magical.

I really want to remember Miss Add’s first roller coaster experience on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. She would scream all the way down the hills and giggle at the bottom.

She LOVED the whole thing!

She got off the roller coaster and she was so excited she kept stopping everyone on the street to tell them how awesome it was. Everyone was so tickled by her… She just had to let EVERYONE know how cool it was.

With that, I am going to give Disney a rest for a little while… I could go on and on. I am just so thankful for the blessing this trip was for us.

SO glad you had such a wonderful time!  I’ll tell you a story about another couple who was there about the same time when I see you next week!  Let’s just say they think the Mouse might need some more Germax at his home!

What a great trip! Looks like Little Miss Add was the perfect age for those things she saw and did. Your hubby looks like he’s having just as much fun! 🙂
